The first version of London Bridge was built by the Romans around AD 50, and has been destroyed and rebuilt quite a few times since then. From Roman sieges and Viking raids to fires, tornadoes and general decay, it's been through a lot. The bridge we use today was opened in 1973 — basically a baby compared to its history!
