Political commentator Matt Walsh has taken a dig at Stephen Colbert after the announcement that the late-night host would be co-writing a new Lord of the Rings movie.

Stephen Colbert, with the end of his late-night series less than two months away, already has a new gig lined up: co-writing the script for an upcoming "Lord of the Rings" movie.

This film, which has the working title The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past, is written by Colbert, who is a Tolkien superfan, Philippa Boyens and Peter McGee.
