South Carolina has emerged as perhaps the most surprisingly competitive Senate race late in the 2026 midterm elections. And on Sunday night, appointed GOP Sen. Darline Graham, Democrat Annie Andrews and Libertarian nominee Kasie Whitener took part in the only debate currently scheduled in the race.

Sen. Darline Graham (R-South Carolina) clashed with Democrat Annie Andrews in their only scheduled debate of a Senate race that has become unexpectedly competitive.

The Democratic U.S. senator says he plans to devote the rest of his $26 million on hand to defeat Republican Mike Collins.

Political candidates are skipping televised debates this year in Florida and elsewhere, in part because of fears of viral social media gaffes.
